The roof wall connection refers to
how the roof framing (i.e. trusses)
are anchored to the wall to resist
the upward force that strong winds
can sometimes exert on the roof.
Following are the typcial types of
connections that will require

Single/Double Wraps - This
refers to steel straps that wrap over
the top of the truss and attach to the
wall on one side of the truss only.

Clips - This refers to steel straps
that attach to the side of the truss.
This option also applies if the
trusses on your house are bolted to
the top plate of the wall.

Toe Nail - This refers to nails or
screws driven at an angle through
the truss into the top plate of the
wall.

Monolithic - This refers to two
structural elements (i.e. roof and
wall) that are not connected through
any fasteners, but are built in a
manner that they are joined
monolithically. This kind of
connection is more common for
reinforced concrete roof decks
where the roof is directly tied into
masonry or concrete walls.
